A day after the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickemasinghe appealed to the international community assuring that the security has improved after the crackdown on Islamic groups and their networks in the country, China, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland are few countries that toned down its travel advisories imposed on Sri Lanka in order to help in reviving the tourism industry of the island nation which was hit hard after the Easter attack.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority said, they are happy to announce that the travel ban implemented by China has been toned down from “Do not travel to Sri Lanka” to “Be cautious” when visiting Sri Lanka.

The second largest market after India in the Sri Lankan tourism sector is China. Since the last three years, the number of Chinese tourists that travel to Sri Lanka has been relatively steady at over 265,000.
