Brief Garden by Bawa
About 10 kilometres inland from Bentota, lays the 05 acres property of Late Mr. Bevis Bawa, a renowned planter, soldier, a landscape architect and a governor of Sri Lanka (1903 – 1992).Brief Garden is the legendary garden and country home of Bevis Bawa, opened to public since 1970, a must-see for the landscape designers and enthusiasts.
This impeccable landscape architect splendour holds over 106 different kinds of trees and hundreds of other flora creating a wonderful site to witness.
Lunu Ganga State is one of the most famous works of Geoffrey Bawa, brother of Bevis Bawa. Geoffrey Bawa have a huge impact on Sri Lankan architecture, to this day. Lunu Ganga is a country home set in sprawling lake side garden estate. The garden and the country home spans for about 15 acres, with every inch thoroughly planned out to pack lot of history, art and nature. Garden is open to visitors from 9 am to 5 pm daily with an entrance fee payable at the gate.
