Built by Portuguese in 1618 and was re-built by the English colonisers in 1680s, this 400 years old structure was built in the shape of a pentagon which is the symbol of Dutch architecture. Remains and the ruins can be found of the old barracks, military residence, church, guardrooms, jail and the court house.
