Upon arrival, you will be met with a tour guide of Hayleys Tours who will show your way to the vehicle. Thereafter you'll be heading towards the sacred city of Anuradhapura - one of the UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites. A spread-eagle of archaeological and architectural spectacles full of ancient pools and bell-shaped stupas, sun-baked brick dagobas, it is one of Buddhism's spiritual places - home to the 2200-year-old Sri Maha Bodhi tree, grown from a cutting of the Indian tree beneath which Buddha found Enlightenment - it is also emphasized in the Hindu Ramayana.
En-route visit Munneswaram Hindu temple in Chillaw. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and has been in existence since 1000 CE, legend states this is where Lord Rama prayed to Shiva after ending the battle with Ravana, to succeed the sin of killing a Brahmin. While Sita did the Shiva pooja at Rameswaram, Rama did it in Munneswaram. Explore this huge collecting of five ancient temples filled with statues of the deities and maybe even offer the temples a fruit plate as offering to the god.

After breakfast proceed to Trincomalee to visit the famous Koneswaram temple - one of the iconic Ramayana related places in Sri Lanka. The name Koneswaram comes from the main deity of the temple, God Shiva. Lord Shiva is said to have power over the mountain of Holy Konam (: Thiru – Holy; Konam- Name; Malai – Mountain) hence proffering the name Thirukoneshwarar (Thiru-Kona-Eeshwarar).
Holy Koneswaram Temple is a Hindu temple which lies on a high stony peninsula surrounded on three sides by the sea. It shows a history of over three millennia with its legends symbolising it's origins in 1580 BC. The temple is a colourful, historical monument that is surrounded by the jaw-dropping landscape on all sides. The site is a divine pilgrim centre and is one of the five dwellings of Shiva that were built in the marshy regions of Sri Lanka to worship the supreme god of Hinduism. In the evening, get ready to explore the exquisite beaches of the northeast coast.

After breakfast transfer to Kandy, optional stop at Sigiriya to explore the lion rock which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. En-route stop at the Sri Muthumariamman Thevasthanam temple complex where you can imagine yourself in the South of India at the sight of this colourful temple with incredible artwork in Matale while heading towards Kandy.

After breakfast, get ready to explore the cultural city of Kandy. You can also make an optional visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens, a garden filled with a huge collection of orchids and other herbs and lovely flowers surrounded by tall trees. In the evening, you'll be heading towards Nuwara Eliya en route visiting the remarkable Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Ramboda. As you step into the temple, you will feel an oasis of tranquility and calmness. Discover the statue of the standing Lord Hanuman. This place is assumed to be exclusively enchanting and majestic!

After breakfast, grab your jackets to explore the Nuwara Eliya town and to make a visit to the Sita Amman Temple - the only Sita temple in the world. A myth has it that Sita - the wife of Rama, was held captive in the Ashoka forests of the region by Ravana. Check out the river which marks the spot where Sita prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her. Have you ever heard of the hanuman footprint in Sri Lanka? On the rock face across the stream are footprints that are said to be of Ravana’s elephant or of Lord Hanuman, when he came to save Sitha. Afterwards, you have the option of visiting a tea plantation/ tea factory to learn and explore the making of fresh Ceylon tea.

After breakfast travel to the south coast via Kithulgala.
Kitulgala - which is named after the sago palms that encompass the destination. Lying along a wonderful wide river called the Kelani which is a great adventure destination, perfect for white water rafting, while the calmer parts of the river are splendid for swimming and the rain-forest, which is filled with butterflies and tropical birds is recommended for hiking.
After engaging in some water sports, you'll be heading towards Galle - an incredible destination that seduces travellers with Instagram worthy backdrops.

After breakfast, it's time to explore the Rhumassala Temple of the Unawatuna Bay. At the top of a mythical mountain is this beautiful temple which has a great legend. Story spills out that during the Rama vs Ravana war, Rama’s brother Lakshmana, was injured and Hanuman headed to the Himalayas to bring medicinal herbs to cure Lakshmana. Hanuman, unfortunately, forgot the name of the herb, so he brought a hunk of the hill containing many herbs. However, the part of the mountain glid and broke into five pieces of which one fell to Rhumassala.
At the top of the hill, there is a large Buddhist dagoba popularly known as the peace pagoda, which was built with the assistance of Japanese monks. Explore the large statue of Lord Hanuman and a walk around the peace pagoda which has majestic views across the Galle bay. You will thereafter be transferred to Colombo where you can do some last minute shopping.
