Welcome to Sri Lanka.
On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met by our tour guide who will escort you to your air-conditioned vehicle to start the journey of exploring the mango-shaped island Sri Lanka, starting off at Kandy. This 3-hour journey will take you to the glorious city- Kandy. The kandy town is extremely charming and famous for its golden temple of the Tooth Relic and gorgeous lake, this city is cradled by hills and enclosed by the curved lines of tea plantations. En-route to Kandy, you have the option of visiting the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage in time to witness the bottle feeding of baby elephants.
Upon reaching Kandy, conduct a city tour including a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The sacred Temple of the Tooth is a vital Buddhist site that contains a tooth of Buddha which was collected from his funeral pyre also, this beautiful temple holds great ancient history and artifacts. If time permits, you can also visit the Royal Botanical Gardens which includes more than 4000 species of lovely flowers, herbs and tall trees, it is renowned for its collection of orchids or you can enjoy the cultural dance show at 1700 hours.
Overnight in Kandy
After a delightful breakfast, you will then proceed to Nuwara Eliya also referred to as “Little England”- the hill country of verdant tea hills and beautiful landscapes of Sri Lanka and of course the breathtaking Nuwara Eliya waterfalls and delicious Ceylon tea. After a two-hour journey from Kandy, you can settle in at the hotel or visit the Victoria Park and Lake Gregory, both these two destinations are some of the beautiful places in Nuwara Eliya perfect to relax and enjoy the ambience of chilly Nuwara Eliya. Also, you'll be able to engage in a horse ride or a swan-boat ride.
After lunch, you will visit the Sita Amman Temple which is believed to be the spot where Sita was held captive by Ravana.
Overnight in Nuwara Eliya
This morning you will be taken to Bentota for a much-needed relaxation by the beach. Though this drive will take approx. 6 hours, you will find it to be the natural treatment. Bentota is the perfect destination to relax while the sea sings its heart out. There are so many answers to the "what to do in bentota" question. Bentota is a wonderful place to engage in some water sports, ticking out your water sports bucket list, from deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, canoeing, diving, windsurfing, waterskiing, or jet-skiing. If you’re not too tired, you can also take a boat ride in the Madu River surrounded by mangrove woodlands and marshy lands, this boat ride will allow exploring some bizarre amphibians, reptiles and some unusual water plants.
Return to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the surroundings of Bentota.
After breakfast, you'll be proceeding to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. If you're wondering about where to go in Colombo, fear no more, this Colombo city tour will show it all. Visit the Arcade - Independence Square, Gangaramaya Temple, Pettah Floating Market, Nelum Pokuna, Galle Face ending the tour with shopping at Odel department store and Laksala for some amazing souvenirs to carry back home. Sri Lanka is the land of exciting hills blanketed with lush tea, heart-stopping waterfalls blending with the clouds and landscapes glistening in sunlight. You have experienced the awe-inspiring jewels of our island and now it's time to say adios. After breakfast, you'll be driven to the Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight back home.
